in 2012, Essex PCTs secured funding for the new Clarity Appraisal Toolkit until March 2015. This means that all Essex GPs can use the Toolkit available at https://appraisals.clarity.co.uk/ without having to pay the personal subscription fee.

Appraisal Toolkit Upgrade
Clarity released new features to the Appraisal Toolkit on Tuesday 04 September 2012.

I have previously registered on the original Toolkit. How can I arrange to be migrated onto the Clarity Appraisal Toolkit?

I did not at any point register on the original Toolkit. How can I register to use the Clarity Appraisal Toolkit?
Please click here to be taken to the registration page on the Clarity Toolkit. If you are unable to register, this may be because you have registered on the original Toolkit in the past (even if you then didn't use it for your appraisals) and you will therefore need to follow the above process to migrate your account to the new Toolkit.
What information will be migrated from the old Toolkit?
We have been advised by Clarity that all historical data and all supporting documents that were uploaded to the old Toolkit will be migrated to the new Toolkit. However, it will be migrated as 'read only' documents into your historic appraisals record. This means that the first year that you use the new Toolkit, you will need to re-enter all of your personal details to the appropriate forms online. In future years, this information will automatically populate into the appropriate personal details fields as before - so it is only the first year that you will need to spend time entering all of this information.
You can access your historic appraisal records on the new Toolkit by following the below steps:

3. In this screen you will see two tabs. One says 'Current', the other says 'Historic'
4. Select 'Historic' and a list of previous appraisal years will appear
I've already paid a personal subscription to the Clarity Toolkit. Am I entitled to a refund?
Clarity has confirmed that Essex GPs are entitled to a refund if their payment was taken after 25 January 2012. In these cases, you will need to contact the support team on 0845 113 1000 or send them an email at email@example.com and a member of the Clarity team will action your refund request.

Why isn't there a Auto Save function?
There is no auto save currently, but this is on the list of planned developments.
Why isn't there a spell checker?
A spell checker is in the list of planned developments, but is not currently one of Clarity's priorities. Most modern web browsers come with inbuilt spell checking features, if users require one
How will I know when my data has been migrated?
You will receive an email from Clarity containing a link that they need to click on and complete your address details, date of birth and choose a new password.
I've lost my migration confirmation email from Clarity - how do I complete the migration process?
If you can't find the confirmation email from Clarity and you haven’t followed the link it contains and provided the information requested you will need to contact Clarity directly and they will resend the migration link. If you have already completed the migration process but are unsure of how to access your account you can click on 'Forgot your password' on the homepage.
Should I enter my information into the Portfolio or directly into the appraisal?
You can enter information either way, but it is probably most straight forward to enter it directly into the appraisal, as if you enter information into the Portfolio you may need to import it into the appraisal at a later date.
